Born in England, Rick moved to Canada in 1975 and now lives in Mill Bay in the Cowichan Valley, Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
Much of Rick’s earlier work has focused on urban abstract and minimalist images in which he explores the relationships between line, shape and colour to produce images that have been pared down to their fundamental or essential elements. Many of his images convey emotional and symbolic qualities that he is drawn to.
More recently he has been working more in black and white, while he looks for inspiration and the hidden beauty in ordinary places.
